I reside in South Africa with my husband, children and grandchildren. My writing is shaped by my experience with trauma, abandonment and the complexities of mental health. Most of my poems were written in my darkest moments, they were born in silence, in confusion, in emotional storms that felt endless. In all the despair, I discovered I was not alone; there was a presence in the whisper of the chaos a hand reaching into the dark and in that moment, faith became the light. This is my poems about falling and rising, of darkness and colour, of losing myself and slowly finding both God and my voice along the way.

About the Author:
I am 60 years old. I live in South Africa, I was born in Parys in the Free State. At an early age my life became one of uncertainty, of change and never knowing where we would be the next day. I learned to hide behind a mask, to not make friends and to make sure I kept my mother happy. I had two lives, the one with my mother and the one with my father. I became an expert at hiding my true feelings, to adapt to say what people wanted to hear. My live changed when I married and had my two children. I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. During my second marraige I was diagnosed with Cronic Reactive Epstein Barr Virus and had to stop working. Dealing with a mental health disorder and a cronic illness is a daily challange. My husband, children and grandchildren are my pride and joy. My poetry is more than words, it is a testimony of my struggle, of my survival, of faith discovered in shadows.
