Young Author of Hope Award - 21 years of age and Younger.
Recognizing Exceptional Young Writers Inspiring Hope Through the Power of Their Words
The Young Author of Hope Award - Under 21, presented by The Prestigious International Hope Book Awards (PIHBA), celebrates remarkable young authors who are already discovering the extraordinary power of their voices.
This special recognition is open to published authors age 20 and younger whose writing demonstrates creativity, courage, purpose, inspiration, or a meaningful message of hope. Young authors may enter across eligible genres, including children's literature, young adult fiction, poetry, inspirational writing, faith-based books, memoir, educational works, and stories created to encourage or positively influence others.
PIHBA believes that impact has no age requirement. A young person does not need decades of life experience to write something capable of touching a heart, starting an important conversation, encouraging another young person, or changing the way someone sees the world.
This award looks beyond an author's age and recognizes the accomplishment behind the work: the imagination required to create it, the courage required to share it, the discipline required to complete it, and the potential of the young voice behind the pages.
Why Enter?
Entering the Young Author of Hope Award - Under 21 gives emerging writers an opportunity to have their work recognized on an international awards platform while building confidence and credibility at an important stage in their writing journey.
Young authors have the opportunity to:
- Receive professional recognition for their literary achievement.
- Build their author résumé and credibility at an early age.
- Gain greater visibility for their book and message.
- Be recognized for creativity, originality, literary promise, and positive impact.
- Encourage other children and young adults to believe that their voices matter.
- Become part of an international community celebrating stories of hope.
- Receive recognition that can support future author biographies, media opportunities, speaking engagements, school presentations, and literary pursuits.
- Have their work considered not simply as “good for their age,” but for the genuine value and potential of what they have created.
What We Are Looking For
Judges will consider the quality of the writing, originality, creativity, age-appropriate achievement, strength of message, emotional connection, presentation, purpose, and the book's ability to inspire, encourage, educate, or create positive change.
Above all, we are searching for young voices worth hearing.
A young author may be writing their very first book today, but that book could be the beginning of a lifetime of storytelling, leadership, advocacy, ministry, creativity, or service to others.
Our Message to Every Young Author
Your age does not determine the importance of your voice.
If you have had the courage to put your ideas, imagination, experiences, faith, dreams, or message onto the page, we want you to know that your words matter.
You do not have to wait until you are older to inspire someone.
You do not have to wait to become a voice of hope.
You can begin now.
